Today, I’m taking a break from my usual posts about relationships and cheating, and instead writing about something a little more fun. Why? Because Justice League comes out in theaters tonight. I can’t wait to see it later, so in the meantime, I decided to write a blog post about the best superhero shows out right now. Even though superhero movies are extremely popular right now, a lot of people don’t realize that Netflix has a lot of great superhero shows too. Since the first Avengers movie was so successful in theaters, Hollywood has been on a binge of making new superhero movies. This isn’t going to stop anytime soon, and this trend has expanded into TV shows, too (including Netflix originals).

In fact, a lot of these shows are actually pretty good. Supergirl is entertaining in its own right, and the main character is surprisingly relatable. Arrow is also fantastic and has multiple seasons to show for it. Meanwhile, Iron Fist is a newer series, but is receiving poor reviews compared to some of these other shows.

Best Superhero Shows On Netflix

If you're a fan of superheroes, you need to watch these shows.

These are some of the hottest shows on Netflix right now.

Supergirl

Supergirl is unique in that it’s one of the few superhero shows to star a woman. Cara is a delightful young girl that also happens to be Superman’s cousin. The show doesn’t take place in Superman’s city, so for the majority of the show, he isn’t around. The show is about Supergirl coming into her own role as a superhero and learning to live with the consequences of her actions.

Arrow

Arrow takes place in Starling City, where Oliver Queen is the heir to a big company left by his father. Unfortunately, his father died in a boat crash, and he just returned from being stranded on a deserted island for five years. He did, however, manage to learn a few tricks while he was stranded there. So, he came back to Starling City with more than a few new skills. He aims to give justice to the people corrupting the city, and goes through a bunch of different trials to try to save his city.

Luke Cage

It’s worth nothing that Luke Cage is one of the few superhero shows or films to have an African American as the lead. The show itself is an interesting take on one of Marvel’s superheroes. Luke Cage is a man with super strength and unbreakable skin due to a failed experiment. He was wrongly accused and sent to prison, but escapes after he gets his new powers.

Iron Fist

Iron Fist really isn’t one of the best superhero shows on Netflix. But I’m mentioning it because it’s one of the newest. If you’re someone that has already watched the other series on this list and is looking for another one, try giving Iron Fist a shot.

The Flash

The Flash is one of the more interesting superhero shows on Netflix. It’s not the best one by any means, but it’s the first time Hollywood has successfully pulled off The Flash. The cool thing about it is that The Flash spends plenty of time teaming up with both Supergirl and Green Arrow, so fans of their shows get to see their favorite superheroes in a bigger context.

The world is on a superhero kick. That doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon, which is good news if you are a fan of these types of movies and shows. So do yourself a favor and grab a Netflix subscription, kick back, and enjoy some of the best superhero shows out there.
